Afghanistan- Berlin backs Afghan-owned peace process – MENAFN

KABUL: The German foreign minister put his weight behind Afghan-owned peace process, saying peace could be brought to Afghanistan only by the Afghan people.

Heiko Maas and his visiting Afghan counterpart Salahuddin Rabbani met in Berlin on the ongoing peace process in the war-ravaged country.

‘Germany stands ready to support Afghanistan’s efforts for peace and reconciliation, ‘ Maas was quoted as saying by the Didpress Agency The Maas-Rabbani meeting came hours ahead of the seventh round of talks between Taliban and US representatives in Doha.
